We were all so sorry to hear of the passing of Merelyn after her long drawn out illness. We have very pleasant memories of David and Merelyn's visit over here in Canada and of the numerous trips we made to various beauty spots including the falls at Niagara . Both Dave and Merelyn were such excellent company and my house was filled with laughter and good humour. Merelyn had a great amount of knowledge and enjoyed every aspect of nature and so we we were able to spend a good amount of time enjoying the varied Canadian wild life in which she took such an interest. On a humorous note , we took a trip to Sarnia , about sixty five kilometers, and on arrival there whilst parking the key broke off in the ignition. Fortunately we were still able to start the vehicle but had to turn around and head for home. Once again the situation was treated with their customary good humour. While over here on their visit it was obvious how caring Merelyn was as a mother and how much she thought about her children Melissa and Joseph, and of course , her grand children. They were a constant part of her conversation. She was a very good and proud Mother and I am sure she will be very sadly missed by them all. David and Merelyn appeared to be the perfect partners. They shared similar interests in Art , had similar tastes in music Both were teachers and both had the same quick witted sense of humour. These aptitudes made for a long and loving relationship which was sadly marred by Merelyn's prolonged and inexplicable illness . As an integral part of our family she will be missed by one and all . Tim , Jonathan and family and Joshua and family.
